About Els Vink

Royal Blue, the name for famous hand-painted earthenware from the town of Delft.

They started to make the Royal Blue in 1653 and is part of the Dutch cultural history.

'De Porceleyne Fles' is the name of the manufacturer and the only one who makes the original Royal Blue.

When I worked there as a painter, I was 17 years of age. Once in a while it was allowed to make something for ourselves.

We could paint the white pottery as we saw fit, by our own design, without the official trade-mark.

Amongst other things I made this plate (32cm diameter) with a portrait of our late Queen Juliana.
