My portraits are always a striking likeness. His or her appearance and personality are recognizable.

The price of a portrait depends on the size and the complexity of the painting, including the background. Please feel free to ask for a price or any information you might wish without obligations. The better you can describe your wishes and specifics on the portrait, the easier it is to make an accurate quotation.

I work with oilpaint, using the 'Glazing-technique'. This painting method was developed in the 17th century, painting many layers of transparent oilpaint over each other. The result is a unique, beautiful depth effect. Nevertheless, it is a labor-intensive process. Please allow for two to three months production time.

A detailed explanation of the approach, from the initial conversation to study-drawings, live-posing and the use of photo's is available on request. I am more then happy to give advice on such as the use of colour, the pose and the composition, the size and the frame of the portrait, etcetera.
